Tall Bike Posse

‘Tis the season of giving and the Central Coast chapter is going to give some bikes to families who can’t afford new ones for their children. Deputy Tom and I went through the stable and picked out three fine mountain bikes suitable for school children. The program was set up by Tom last year through the grade school which he teaches at. His school will pick the students through his recommendation, buy a new helmet and lock, we will tune-up and deliver the bike to the child’s parent. All we require in return is that the parent log on to tallbikeposse.com and write a “thank you” to the posse.

Yes, it’s obvious we promote alternative, alternative transportation (tallbikes), but we can also support just alternative transportation (a standard bike).

Hey, we did it! The San Luis Obispo X-mas Parade was a Huge success! Sheriff Mike, Marshall David and Deputy Donovan from the Northern California chapter joined in on the Central Coast’s best Holiday parade. We had ten tall bikes in the “Bike Happening” contingency. Thank you Dan “Yard Sale” for pulling the parade permit and making it “happen”. Despite a few tall bike mishaps along the way, nobody was seriously hurt and EVERYONE enjoyed themselves. Some a little too much–the word of the day was “Oooooohhh”.
